  • Don Heck in addition to his above health issues - visiting family in Florida - now has Covid and is in the hospital with pneumonia.

  • Tommy Pulda '72 on Wed Jan 18th had two heart vales replaced - doing well.

  • Del Alton's wife dealing with recent stroke.

  • Mary Woitach '59 dealing with chronic knee issues.

  • Bob Letsch has been dealing with Flu/Cold/Chills for past two and 1/2 weeks.

Angel Athletics

Girls Basketball Tuesday night the Lady Angels basketball team traveled to The Prairie School for a Metro Classic Conference girls basketball game. The Angels had a great 2nd half, however Prairie showed why it is ranked in the top 10 of the state as they defeated the Angels 63-34. Kennedee Clark led the team with 12 points and 7 rebounds while Aniyah Price had 6 points. Friday night the Angels hosted Martin Luther and unfortunately failed to find any rhythm on offense and defense as they were defeated by the Spartans 64-24. Ariana Green led the team with 12 points and 9 rebounds while Aniyah Price added 5 points. Boys Basketball In a Metro Classic Conference matchup Wednesday night the Angels hosted The Prairie School. The Angels found themselves down early as Prairie came out playing great defense and some even better offense. However in the last 9 minutes of the first half the Angels went on a 32-9 run to take the lead into halftime. In the 2nd half the Angels couldn’t pull away but kept a comfortable lead all 2nd half to defeat the Hawks 71-54. Evan Moherek led the team with 21 points while Lamont Hamilton had 19 and Domonic Pitts had 12. Saturday afternoon the Angels traveled to Martin Luther for what would turn out to be a very challenging Metro Classic Conference game. While the Angels held the lead for most of the game, they found themselves tied with 5 seconds to go. Lamont Hamilton took the ball to the rim for the final basket of the game as the Angels defeated the Spartans 56-54. Davion Thomas-Kumpula led the team with 18 points while Lamont Hamilton and Domonic Pitts each had 14.

Wrestling The St. Catherine’s/Lutheran/Catholic Central wrestling team traveled to Living Word Lutheran for a double dual with LWL and Ozaukee High School on Thursday night. The matches didn’t go as hoped as the Angels lost to Living World Lutheran 66-18 and 30-15 to Ozaukee. Demacio Trujillo went 2-0 on the night with a pin and a decision. Elijah LaFountain also went 2-0 on the night with 2 pins. Kyle Arb and Alberto Rodriguez each earned forfeit victories as well.

Poms Congratulations to the poms team for a great performance at Waterford on Saturday. Great job to the entire team and coaches. Good luck at Nationals!!

Boys Swim The PSC Aquatics team traveled to Elkhorn on Tuesday night for a double dual with Elkhorn and Badger. While the team was defeated in each of their duals, the team swam extremely well including setting an impressive 7 new team records. New team records were set by Nathan Breit in the 200 meter freestyle (2:08.79) and 100 meter backstroke (1:05.14), Jack Borzynski in the 100 meter breaststroke (1:17.01) and 100 meter butterfly (1:03.40), Nolan Mrotek in the 200 meter individual medley (2:44.15), Jerome Mattick in the 400 meter freestyle (6:12.26) and the 200 meter freestyle relay team of Borzynski, Breit, Mrotek and Timothy Peterson (1:51.44). Saturday the PSC Aquatics team traveled to Racine Case for an invitational. While the team only had 7 swimmers, they swam amazing and finished 6th out of 10 teams. The team continues to set team records as 5 new team records were set. Jack Borzynski took 1st in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.21. Taking 2nd place was Borzynski in the 100 butterfly (54.70), Nathan Breit in the 100 backstroke (57.19) and the 200 freestyle relay team of Borzynski, Breit, Timothy Peterson and Nolan Mrotek (1:37.21). The last team record was set by Breit in the 200 freestyle (1:54.34).

Digital Ticketing St. Catherine's has gone to digital ticketing for varsity football, girls volleyball (JV2, JV and varsity), boys volleyball (JV and varsity), girls basketball (JV and varsity), boys basketball (JV2, JV and varsity), wrestling (JV and Varsity) and all WIAA tournament events. See flyer below for more details. Please note that on days of varsity football games and boys basketball (JV2, JV and varsity) ticket sales will end at 2:00pm the day of the event. Anyone without a ticket will not be allowed entrance into the game.
