Angel Athletics

Dec 19th - Dec 24th

Girls Basketball In a non-conference game Tuesday night the Angels traveled to western Racine County to face off against the Burlington Demons. The Angels played one of their best and most complete games of the season as they were able to defeat the Demons 60-42. Laila Collier-White had a career night scoring 32 points. Aniyah Price had 7 points and 5 steals and Kennedee Clark had a double-double which included 10 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks. Playing their 2nd night in a row, the Angels traveled to Kenosha Tremper for a non-conference matchup. Unfortunately a slow start for the Angels proved to be too much to overcome as they lost to Tremper 65-53. Kennedee Clark had a great game and led the Angels with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. Aniyah Price had 13 points and Arianna Green had 10. Boys Basketball In a matchup of schools located less than a mile from each other, the Angels hosted the Racine Park Panthers in front of a large crowd on Tuesday night. The Angels took a healthy 22 point lead into halftime, but the Panthers battled back in the second half to cut the deficit in half. When the final buzzer blew the Angles were able to walk away with the 76-65 victory. Terrion Glass-Barnes had a fantastic evening shooting as he was able to contribute 17 points in the victory. Right behind Glass-Barnes was Domonic Pitts with a double-double of 15 points, 10 rebounds. Davion Thomas-Kumpula also had a double-double as he had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Evan Moherek also contributed 14 points. Wrestling Wednesday night in a cross conference rivalry wrestling dual the St. Catherine’s/Lutheran/Catholic Central wrestling team faced off against Lake Country Lutheran. The Angels wrestled well, unfortunately it wasn’t enough to defeat the Lightning as the Angels dropped the match 48-28. Luis Rivera and Armando Nuno each picked up a pin on the night, while Alejandro Gomez-Garcia took home a 9-1 major decision and Kyle Arb and Rebekah Beere had forfeit victories.
