CONGRATULATIONS to our good friend Marty Defatte '61 Horlick

The Grand Opening of the new conference room at the Marty Defatte COP House (1522 6th St.)! We look forward to the many meetings, events, and community gatherings that will take place in this beautiful new space.

A tremendous thank you to our community partners—SC Johnson, A Family Company, Habitat for Humanity of Racine & Kenosha Counties, and the Racine Community Outpost—for helping make this project possible.

A special shoutout to the Gateway Technical College students who helped bring this vision to life by physically building the space. Your hard work and craftsmanship are greatly appreciated!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone. If you weren't able to attend, don't worry—Rob'd Arts captured some fantastic photos for everyone to enjoy!

Trip Down Memory Lane............The Good Old Days

  • How many SCHS Athletes remember being send by your coach to Palermo's for a hair cut before you could tryout for a team or once on a team before you could practice. John Palermo's barber shop on 9th & Villa St.

St. Bonaventure Prep School, also known as St. Bonaventure Minor Seminary and High School, was founded in 1901 in Pulaski, Wisconsin. Originally, the school's goal was to prepare Polish youth for the priesthood. The Franciscans who ran the school wanted a location to draw students from the larger Polish populations of Milwaukee and Chicago. In 1921, they moved to Sturtevant. As the years passed and interest in the priesthood decreased, the school's focus changed to preparing young men for college. In 1982, financial difficulties forced the school to decide to close after graduation the following year. In 1983, the school closed and eventually was converted into the Racine Correctional Institution

Laugh for the Day..............

Still trying to get my head around the fact that 'Take Out' can mean food, dating, or murder. The older I get, the more I understand why roosters scream to start their day

You know you're over 50 when you have 'upstairs ibuprofen' and 'downstairs ibuprofen.'

If only vegetables smelled as good as bacon.

I woke up this morning determined to drink less, eat right, and exercise. But that was four hours ago when I was younger and full of hope.

Anyone who says their wedding was the best day of their life has clearly never had two candy bars fall down at once from a vending machine.

The biggest joke on mankind is that computers have begun asking humans to prove they aren't a robot.

When a kid says "Daddy, I want mommy" that's the kid version of "I'd like to speak to your supervisor."

It's weird being the same age as old people.
