  • Dick Peterson was in the hospital for 2-1/2 days, had ton of tests waiting for results. He's temporarily living with his son. Dick's wife Fran Peterson has Covid.

  • George Gordon broken a bone in his right foot - still wearing a boot.

  • Jerry Jardina had cataract surgery - wearing and eye patch and bumping into living room furniture. Did't have the heart to tell him while he was having his eye surgery his wife Linda rearranged the living room furniture.

  • Bill Halberstadt's wife has been declared legally blind.

  • Don Klemt's daughter dealing with serious health issues.

  • Jack Kelley' 58 H dealing with recurring cancer in his throat area.

  • Rick Jones '73 H is scheduled for Shoulder Replacement Surgery in October.

  • Ron Bentz '56 dealing with serious health issues.

Angel Athletics.........Aug 15 - Aug 20th

Friday night the Angels kicked off their 2022 season as they hosted the Racine Lutheran Crusaders at Pritchard Park. The Angels were looking for some redemption after some recent losses to the Crusaders and redemption is what they got. After a well balanced attack and some great defense the Angels walked away with the 46-0 victory. Jayvion Hunter kicked off the offense with a 3 yard TD run in the 1st quarter. Later in the quarter John Perugini found Davion Thomas-Kumpula for a 38 yard TD catch. In the 2nd quarter Lamont Hamiltion found the endzone on 4th and 9 with a rushing TD and just before halftime DJ Miller scored on a 7 yard TD run. The offense picked right back up in the 2nd half as DJ Miller scored on a 10 yard run and Perugini found Thomas-Kumpula for a 4 yard TD reception in the third quarter. The last touchdown of the night came on a 7 yard reception from Perugini to Dominic Pits in the 4th quarter. Perugini ended the night with 144 passing yards, 28 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Miller led the rushing attack with 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. Thomas-Kumpula led the receivers with 5 receptions for 68 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jakari Oliver also hauled in 3 catches for 40 yards.


Girls Tennis

On Wednesday and Thursday the St. Catherine’s/Lutheran girls tennis team kicked off their season as they participated in the South Milwaukee Invite. Wednesday's action pitted them against New Berlin West and Oak Creek. In their first match of the day the Angels fell to New Berlin West, 7-0. Maggie Fischer and Isabella Lillo were each able to win 1 game against their opponent while Elana Gaither won 3 games. The best match of the day for the Angels came from the doubles team of Mabel Beversdorf and Sarah Strande where they won 5 games in their first set and 3 games in their second set. In their second match of the day, the Angels faced off against Oak Creek. In singles action Isabella Lillo was able to come away with a 7-5, 6-1 victory and Maggie Fischer was able to earn a hard fought 6-4, 2-6, 10-4 victory. Despite their effort the Angels fell to Oak Creek 5-2.

On Thursday the ladies were back on the court. Their first match of the day pitted them up against Whitnall. Whitnall proved to be a tough opponent as they were able to beat the Angels 5-2. Isabella Lillo was able to collect another singles match victory as she beat her opponent 6-2, 4-6, 10-2. The other victory of the day came from the doubles team of Marissa Feurstin and Dayjia Brown-Frazier as they won 7-6, 6-1. Coming up just short of a victory was the team of Mabel Beversdorf and Sarah Strande as they lost 6-7, 6-7. The Lady Angels ended their day on a high note as they were able to defeat Grafton 5-2 in their last match of the way. Isabella Lillo ended her week with her third victory as she won 6-0, 6-0. All three doubles teams for the Angels earned victories as the team of Mabel Beversdorf and Sarah Strande won 6-1, 6-0. The team of Dayja Brown-Frazier and Marissa Feurstein won 7-5 and 6-1. Finally the team of Saleysia Cruz and Liliana Kutis won 7-6, 6-3. Claire Matthews also earned a default victory.
