ANGELS - 2026 DIV III WIAA State Boys Basketball Champions
Congratulations to Coach Ryan Thompson, his staff & Champion Angels. Coach Thompson joins legendary SCHS Boys Basketball Coaches John McGuire (6 WISAA) & Bob Letsch (8 - 3 WISAA - 5 WIAA) long with Nick Bennet (1) in leading the Angels to state basketball championship.
SPECIAL THANKS to John Ketarkus & Dan Kovara sponsoring today's Alumni House luncheon. The main course was Marquette Hollyfest Chili. John is one creative chef !!!

Trip Down Memory Lane............The Good Old Days
Known for Racine High school and Racine Raiders Broadcasts on WRJN radio .
Born in Milwaukee on July 26, 1933, Gary grew up there and in Manitowoc, WI where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951. He served in the US Army before graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1959.
His career in radio began that year at WFHR in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
He joined WRJN in Racine in 1962, retiring in 1998, as News and Sports Director. During that time he broadcast local high school football, basketball, and Racine Raiders football as well the University of Wisconsin-Parkside basketball for 10 years.
He continued to call Racine Raiders games until 2002.
During his broadcast career, he announced a total of 2,125 games both home and away.
Gary R. Suhr, , passed away on April 20, 2020 at the age of 86.

I had the pleasure of visiting with Cordero Barkley '05 at the recent WIAA State Boys Basketball Tourney.
In 2005 Cordero, led the Angels to the 1st WIAA State Boys Basketball Championship.
He told me his wife is teaching and his son just turn 5yrs old. Cordero lives in Green Bay, works for Baird and spends time at the Milwaukee branch. A true gentleman and class act.
