Aging Well

Point to Ponder..............

AMEN...........

Trip Down Memory Lane............The Good Old Days
A great drawing of the Monument Square area is on the front cover of the music which was a "March" and probably used for the parade that year.
Note: At the time this piece was written in 1909, James Gilson (1871-1939) was the general sales manager of Mitchell Motor Car Co. in Racine, Wisconsin. At the outbreak of the First World War, he was a captain of the First Field Artillery of the Wisconsin

A piece of Racine’s Civil War history is now marked at 1805 Wisconsin Avenue.
Camp Utley once covered about 75 acres near Lake Michigan and served as a training site for thousands of Wisconsin soldiers before they left to serve in the Civil War. About 91,000 Wisconsin men served during the war, and more than 10,000 died in service.
Racine County Executive Ralph Malicki '82 joined County Board Supervisors Spencer and Osterman, along with Bill May portraying Colonel William Utley, for the dedication of the historical marker.
Thank you to Preservation Racine, Org, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and its Auxiliary, Steve Rogstad, and the community partners who helped preserve and share this important story.
Next time you are near 18th Street and Main Street, take a moment to visit the marker and learn more about Racine’s place in our nation’s history.

Laugh for the Day..............
Looks a little like Jerry Jardina '61???
