Out & About............
The Roma Lodge Italian Festival is built by volunteers who give their time, energy, and talent to keep this tradition going year after year.
From preparing food and serving guests to selling tickets, organizing activities, keeping things moving, and helping wherever needed, every volunteer plays an important part in the weekend.
Here are a few more faces from last year’s festival. Thank you to everyone who has already stepped up and to those getting ready to help again this weekend. We could not do it without you.

AMEN...........

Trip Down Memory Lane............The Good Old Days
A blast from the past, who remembers this establishment, along with the Golden Lantern restaurant? My brother Lee Wood '52 was a bartender at the Golden Lantern for a short time.

OLD ST. MARY'S HOSPITAL NOW DEMOLISHED
How many of us were born here, at the old St. Mary's Hospital? I think most of us "boomers" came into this world at St Mary's. How about you? Do you remember all the nuns who worked there? Now, there is nothing left, except a pile of rubble.

Laugh for the Day..............
Sally was driving home from one of her business trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road. As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride. With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.
Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman. The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at everything she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally.'What in the bag?' asked the old woman.
Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, 'It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband.'The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two. Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said, 'Good trade.'
Racine Happenings...........
The City of Racine Common Council voted 15-0 Tuesday to approve plans to redevelop Shoop Park Golf Course, clearing the way for a $10 million private investment from the Leipold Johnson Golf Group.
