Judith “Judy” McGuire, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026 at the age of 98, surrounded by the love that she so generously gave to others. A lifelong resident of Racine, Judy was born on September 4, 1927, to Louis and Josephine (née Caporusso) Trentadue.
She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1945 and later married the love of her life, John McGuire, on June 2, 1956, at St. Rose Catholic Church. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years until John’s passing in 2001.
Family was Judy’s heart. She was a loving mother to Mike (Jill) McGuire, Tom McGuire, Beth McGuire Glimp, and Cathy Jo McGuire, and a proud Nana to Trevor (Phoebe), Allison, Kelly, John (Ashley), Joe, Trent, Eric, Adam, and Ryan. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Liam and Landyn. Judy was a cherished aunt to Toby (Jennifer), Debi, and Doug (Bobbi Jo). She was preceded in death by her husband John, and brother Dominic (Pam).
Judy proudly embraced her Italian heritage as a devoted member of the Roma/Vittoria Colonna Lodge. She found joy on the bocce courts – often teaching her grandchildren the game she loved – and in the kitchen, where her delicious pasta dinners became the heart of countless family gatherings. Even John’s basketball teams were lucky enough to enjoy her meals, served with a side of laughter and love. Music and dancing were Judy’s soul. The moment she heard a beat, her feet would follow – she simply could not stay still. She was always ready for the dance floor, and her joy was infectious.
After raising her children, Judy returned to banking, retiring as a supervisor. Retirement didn’t slow her down – she followed her love of fashion, working at Eitel’s and Talbots, where she helped customers find the perfect outfit, always with the right accessories. Judy had a flair for style and a warmth that drew people in. She greeted everyone with kindness, grace, and that signature sparkle.
She remained a loyal and generous friend throughout her life. Judy was preceded in death by many special people including Al Stefani, Karen Letsch, Peter Mangialardi, George and Lucy Smith, Vito and Dolores Diciaula, Sam and Judy Santoro, and extended family members across Milwaukee, Toronto, and California.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers and staff at St. Monica’s and St. Croix Hospice who added so much happiness to Judy’s life. Deepest gratitude as well to Arelene LoPiccolo, Marilyn Bieneman, and Barb Hayes for your enduring friendship and the joy you brought to Judy’s birthday celebrations.
Judy’s memory will live on in every shared meal, every song that inspires a dance, and every act of kindness passed from one generation to the next. She lived with heart, humor, and immeasurable love. So raise a glass, share a smile, and in her honor, we say: Salute!
