"SCOOPIN' THE LOOP" PRESENTATION COMING TO THE GOLDEN RONDELLE - A FREE NOSTALGIC PROGRAM 

  Join Carol Gianforte and me when we present "Scooping the Loop - A Tour of Downtown Racine in the 1950s and 1960s" at the Golden Rondelle Theater.  Our "new and improved" version will include over 50 enhanced photos and videos of downtown Racine, including many colorful cars from the '50s and '60s. 

There will be TWO programs...Monday, August 31st, and Wednesday, Sept. 2nd, both beginning at 7:00pm.  RESERVATIONS ARE REQUESTED, however...please see the attached flyer for instructions.  Lobby doors open at 6:00, with seating beginning at 6:30.  The program will last about 90 minutes.  HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE

The 39th annual Animal Crackers Concert Series at the Racine Zoo  Doors open at 5:30 PM, and the show run from 7:00 PM to approximately 9:00 PM. The final remaining concert for the 2026 summer series is on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, featuring Grace Kelly.

Trip Down Memory Lane............The Good Old Days


  • The entire block across from Racine's Monument Square was razed in the late 1970's and is now occupied by the "Johnson Building".


  • The Kewpee chain started in 1923, two years after White Castle, and had over 400 locations before World War II. Only five are left in the whole country, and Racine's, serving since the mid 1920s, is one of them. Wendy's founder Dave Thomas said a Kewpee he grew up eating at inspired Wendy's. Kewpee's is c;losed on Mondays.

Dick Graceffa '69, he is resting well and recovering after an eight (8) hour stomach surgery on Friday at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee


Marty Defatte '61 H feel and injured his knee - wearing a brace and using a cane


Dr Robert Jaklich '76 injured his shoulder and will see an orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday


Rick Bonini '65 had Triple Heart By-Pass Surgery


Mark Pawzun dealing with Rotator Cuff - surgery planned in the Fall


Al Mollerskov former SCHS Biology teacher in 70'ts. Dealing with Hydrocephalus (often called "water on the brain") . Al had surgery - Doctors insert a Shunt in his haed to drain the water into his system. He recovering well back driving and his balance is much better.


Earl Wirtz is doing well - walking and using his right arm/hand


Jim May is at Brookside in Kenosha.
