Honor Flight is a non-profit service that provides free transportation for U.S. military veterans, particularly those from the World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War eras, to visit the national war memorials in Washington, D.C The trips are organized by local volunteers-run "hubs" under the Honor Flight Network, which provides support and guidelines for their activities. Funding for these trips come from donations, not government grants, allowing veterans to share in a day of gratitude and remembrance at no cost to them.
