Jan 16th - Jan 21st

Girls Basketball Friday evening the girls basketball team traveled to Whitefish Bay to face off against the #1 team in Division 3, the Dominican Knights. The Knights proved why they were ranked number 1 in the state as they held the Angels to only 9 points at halftime. The Angels however made some halftime adjustments and had a much better 2nd half. Unfortunately in the end it wasn’t enough as Dominican beat St. Catherine’s 59-32. Kennedee Clark led the team with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Kaleah Conley, Emmerson Davidovic, London Pardo and Ariana Green each had 4 points.

Boys Basketball Thursday night the boys basketball team hosted Dominican in a very competitive Metro Classic Conference boys basketball game. The game was back and forth early, but the experience and skill of the Angels pulled through as the game went on as the Angels were able to defeat the Knights 97-81. Davion Thomas-Kumpula had a career night as he scored 26 points, had 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Lamont Hamilton added 23 points, Evan Moherek had 18 and Dominic PItts had 12. Isiaiah Wray led the team in rebounds as he was able to grab 12 boards.

Wrestling Friday night the St. Catherine’s/Lutheran/Catholic Central Angels hosted the inaugural Metro Classic Conference quad. The gym was full of wrestlers and fans all night long and created a great atmosphere for wrestling. Unfortunately for the Angels the results didn’t end up as hoped. In their first dual against Kenosha St. Joseph the Angels lost 42-30. Alejandro Gomez-Garcia was able to pickup a pinfall victory while Rebekah Beere, Anakin Barbee, Brayden Yocco and Julian Rodriguez received forfeit victories. In their second dual of the night against Shoreland Lutheran, the Angels fell short as they were defeated 59-12. Anakin Barbee and Elijah LaFountain each had pins in the contest. In their last dual of the evening the Angels faced off against Martin Luther. Martin Luther was able to control the match and defeat the Angels 60-24. Alejandro Gomez-Garcia and Alberto Rodriguez were each able to earn pinfall victories while Rebekah Beere and Elijah LaFountain were awarded forfeit victories. Saturday the wrestling team traveled to Waukesha South to participate in the Ken Heine Blackshirt Invitational. The team gave it their all after a long night on Friday night and managed to finish 18th out of 20 teams. At 132 pounds, Brayden Yocco went 2-3 with 2 pins and finished in 8th place. At 182 pounds, Elijah LaFountain went 2-2 with 1 pin to finish in 5th place. Also earning victories for the team was Alejandro Gomez-Garica with 1 win and Edgar Cesario-Olivares with 2 wins.

Cheer/Poms Saturday afternoon the St. Catherine’s cheer/poms team hosted 63 young boys and girls to learn a routine to be performed at the boys basketball game on January 20th against Kenosha St. Joseph. The team did a great job and all the kids had a great day. They will be performing to the song “What dreams are made of” by Hilary Duff. This years dance was choreographed by Ella Orth, Arianna Easton, Giaynah Garcia, Alexis Hrouda and Brooklyn Barron.

Boys Swim Tuesday evening the PSC Aquatics boys swim team traveled to Whitewater for a double dual. The boys performed extremely well and won both duals as they defeated Whitewater 81-75 and Platteville/Lancaster 80-76. On the night two new team records were set as the 200 yard medley relay team of Nathan Breit, Timothy Peterson, Jack Borzynski and Nolan Mrotek took first place with a time of 1:52.71. Also setting a new team record was the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Borzynski, Alex Waite, Peterson and Breit who finished first with a time of 1:43.96. Other first place finishers on the night included Breit in the 200 yard IM (2:20.00) and 100 yard backstroke (1:00.92), Mrotek in the 50 yard freestyle (25.89), and Peterson in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:15.81).
