My San Antonio Visit............

Dr. Robert "Speedy" Jaklich '76, Mark "Spider" Pawzun '75, Dave "Bulz" Bulik '71

All three SCHS favorite sons played basketball at St, Mary's Univ in San Antonio TX.

I had the distinct honor of playing golf with these outstanding gentlemen at Silverhorn Golf Course in San Antonio this past week. We were 5 under. As Mark Pawzun was backing out of a sand trap, he tripped and did a complete backward summersault with the grace and elegance of a seasoned gymnast. The 3 judges each gave him a 10 on his performance.

You ask how Dr. J appears so tall in the photo above......answer below.....

Dave, Dr. J, and Mark (my nephew) after birdie putt.....

Week In Angel Athletics

Oct 17th - Oct 22nd

Football Friday night the Angel football team kicked off their postseason as they hosted St. Francis in a level 1 football game. It didn’t take long for the Angels to score as DJ Carr recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff and returned it for a touchdown. From there the offense, defense and special teams took over for the rest of the game as the Angels were able to defeat St. Francis 58-6. John Perugini connected with Jakari Oliver for a 2 yard passing TD. DJ Miller had touchdown runs of 6 yards and 75 yards, Sam Driver had a 48 yard interception return for a touchdown, John Peruguni had a 62 yard touchdown run, Davion Thomas-Kumpula had a 78 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and Javion Hunter had a 69 yard touchdown run. The Angels will next host Campbellsport at Horlick Athletic Field on Friday night at 7:00pm.

Girls Volleyball Tuesday evening the girls volleyball team traveled to Pius XI High School for round 1 of the regionals. The Lady Angels gave everything they had, unfortunately in the end Pius took the 25-13, 25-6, 25-19 victory ending the Angels season. Julissa Gentry led the team with 12 kills, while Katelyn Gordon had 4 blocks, 2 kills and 1 ace.

Boys Volleyball Boys volleyball finished off its regular season on Tuesday night as they hosted Wilmot Union. A large crowd showed up for parents night and the Angels performed admirably, however Wilmot Union was able to earn a 25-17, 25-15, 25-12 victory. Drew Schoneman led the team with 8 assists and 5 blocks. Sam Pitrof had 5 kills while Tristan Ropiak had 4 kills and 3 blocks. Jackson Smith added 3 blocks and Drew Schmidkonz and Caleb Scott had 9 and 7 digs respectively Friday night the Angels boys volleyball team traveled to Racine Case for a regional playoff matchup. Earlier in the year the Angels faced off against Case with Case winning that game convincingly. Unfortunately the match result was the same on Friday night with Case earning the victory, however the Angels played much better and forced Case to play their best game. The final scores were 25-20, 25-10, 25-21.

Boys Soccer Thursday night the Angel boys soccer team traveled to West Allis Hale High school to face off against Veritas/Tenor in a regional boys soccer game. The Angels played a great 2nd half with lots of energy and great defense. Unfortunately a 4 goal first half for Veritas/Tenor was enough to propel them to a 4-0 victory, ending the Angels season.

Cross Country On a beautiful Saturday afternoon the Angel cross country team hosted division 2 cross country sectionals at UW-Parkside. While the Angels only had 2 runners that participated, those 2 runners ran a great race as Sean Moore was able to finish in 59th place with a time of 21:06.98. Tony Sosa finished in 62nd place with a time of 21:12.29.

Swim The PSC Aquatics team hit the water on Tuesday as they traveled to Elkhorn. All the swimmers did a great job and are really hitting their stride as the season has gone along.
