Week In Angel Athletics August 22nd-August 27th

Football Friday night the Angels traveled to Lomira High School to host Mosinee in a week 2 non-conference football matchup. In a slugfest of two high powered offenses, through 3 quarters it seemed poised to be a game of whoever has the ball last will win, ended with the Angels defense coming up with three 4th quarter interceptions by Domonic Pitts, Lamont Hamilton and Isaac Cantu to stop the Mosinee Indians offense and come away with the 48-38 victory. Davion Thomas-Kumpula began the scoring for the Angels with a 78 yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the 1st quarter. Jakari Oliver added a touchdown reception from John Perugini in the 1st quarter as well. A touchdown pass from Perugini to Lamont Hamilton was the only score in the 2nd quarter for the Angels. A huge 3rd quarter for the Angels included a DJ Miller TD run and two TD passes for Perugini to Hamilton. The last score of the night came on a Jayvion Hunter TD run in the 4th quarter. DJ Miller led the Angels with 193 rushing yards on 16 attempts. Lamont Hamilton led the Angels with 4 receptions for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns. John Perugini had a great game under center as he went 11-20 with 191 yards passing and 83 yards rushing as well.

Girls Tennis Friday the St. Catherine’s/Lutheran girls tennis team traveled to Racine Case to participate in a 2 day invite. Unfortunately on Friday the results weren’t what the Angels expected as they lost 7-0 in their first match to Racine Case, 7-0 in their second match to Burlington and 7-0 in their third match to Union Grove. Unfortunately Indian Trail was too much for the Angels to handle as they defeated St. Catherine’s/Lutheran 6-1.
